Singapore congratulates Nanjing on winning bid to host 2nd Youth Olympics

SINGAPORE, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Singapore on Thursday congratulated China's Nanjing on winning the bid to host the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games(YOG) in 2014.

Ng Ser Miang, Chairman of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (SYOGOC) and Vice President of the International OlympicCommittee (IOC) in congratulating the city of Nanjing in their successful bid, said: "Nanjing has excellent sports facilities and given its richculture and history, it would certainly be an enriching experience for the world's top young athletes taking part in the 2014 YOG."

According to a statement by the SYOGOC, Ng also said that the SYOGOC looks forward to workingclosely with Nanjing to share the knowledge and experience of organizing the first Youth Olympic Games rolex replica with the view to "create sustainable programs that would leave a lasting legacy to the youth of the world".

"I believe there are opportunities for both organizing teams to work together to motivate youth to participate in sport and play an activerole in their communities," Ng said.

Singapore is the host country for the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games to be held from Aug. 14 to 26, 2010.
